Richardson Highway 97-106.5 Resurfacing
What To Expect:
Work began this week and will take place daily from 6am to 6pm. Work includes: culvert replacement, ditch work, paving, and bridge work on the Tazlina and Klutina River. Bridge work is expected to continue through the end of July 2026.
Traffic Impacts:
From the week of June 9 through mid-August, there will be flagger and pilot car operations with delays up to 20 minutes.
Work last week:
Contractor removed all non-bridge associated guardrail. Pit-development at 100-mile pit continues and subbase F material produced was sampled Saturday for a scheduled critical standard density test. Scales have been installed and certified. We are currently trucking rip-rap material.
Work this week:
Milling culvert crossings has started. Excavating and placing ditch lining and installing geocells. Continuing to produce subbase-F and ditch lining.

Denali Highway Culvert Replacement
What To Expect:
Spring thaw revealed severe erosion at the Stikwan Creek culvert. The contractor has repaired the damage and armored select locations to prevent future erosion.
We are waiting on vegetative stabilization. This project should be completed by July 31, 2025.
