 And No, It's Not A Warning From Howling Dogs 

Apparently, increasing the spacing and number of seismic stations in Alaska could add seconds or minutes to warning times for earthquakes, according to UAF scientists.  

There's already a U.S. ShakeAlert quake warning system in Washington State, California and Oregon. The scientists want one in Alaska, which has some pretty bad earthquakes, too. 

But then there's the technical question about how long it'll take to transmit the inbound quake warning to your cell phone.

Viral videos and rumors have said for years that dogs can predict earthquakes, and start howling when one is about to occur.
