Troopers Say Man Was Convicted Felon With Handgun In His Possession

On 05/13/2023 at approximately 2018 hours, AST received a report of a vehicle stuck on a snow berm with the driver being under the influence in the village of Kluti Kaah. 

AST arrived and identified the driver as Lewis Price III, age 65, of Tazlina. Investigation revealed Price was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. While being arrested he forcefully attempted to get away from AST. 

Price is a convicted felon and was in possession of a handgun in his vehicle. Price also refused to provide a sample of his breath on the Datamaster instrument. Price was charged with DUI, Refusal, Misconduct Involving a Weapon 3rd & 4th and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. Price is being held at MAT-SU Pretrial on a $5,000 bail.
