The Copper Basin 300 will be launching a 100-mile race for kids this spring.
This year is the 36th for the 300-mile cross country sled dog race to be held on January 11th, 2025. The historic race has legendary success, and was originally organized and run by volunteers from across the Copper Valley as a means of practicing safety measures, having fun in the dead of winter – and working together as a community.
This October, CB300 says our region will hold a new 100-mile "Junior Race" on April 4th and 5th, 2025.
The trail will be open during that time for a Fun Run, for runners, skiers, skijorers and flat-tire bikers.

Junior races have been a popular spring event in the past. The Paxson Tail-Ender, which occurred when Paxson had a thriving winter lodge and restaurant, was hugely successful. Children participated in dog races in that event.
Chistochina Fun Days, also held in spring, has long encouraged both children and adult dog mushing in Chistochina Village.
