Copper Center Man Driving 6x6 Under Influence Of Alcohol At Mile 111 Richardson, Troopers Say

 Troopers Charge DUI After Sobriety Test

On 06/03/2022 at approximately 2240 hours, AST Glennallen received a report of a male who was driving a 6x6 while under the influence of alcohol near 111 mile of the Richardson Highway. AST responded and located the male who identified himself as Derek Mahle, age 33 of Copper Center. Investigation revealed Derek was in fact intoxicated and on conditions of release in two separate cases to not consume alcohol. 

Derek submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and subsequently failed. Derek was arrested for DUI and provided a sample of his breath resulting in .238 BrAC. Derek was held at the Glennallen State Trooper Post pending arraignment.
