Great Job, Maura!

Maura Kosbruk was the very first Migrant Ed student to finish our Yaykaas (Northern Lights in AHTNA) Reading Journal.

She is an Ahtna Shareholder. Her grandma (Jeanne Maxim) named her Naghanena, which means "she moves with us." She is Tsisyu, C'el' C'ena kayaax, Deanna Kosbruk snaan eł Steven Jefferson sta' eł Ann Maxim stuscde. She is also Aleut and Coast Salish from Lummi Nation.

Maura, ugheldze' ghitnaa! (great job, Maura!)

Maura has also received the Brilliant Bookworm trophy from Gulkana Village Council as well, for their summer reading program.

Our district wants to begin highlighting student achievements. We want to call it Keghenaa. I have already sent this to Ahtna Kanas and published on our CRSD Migrant Ed Facebook page. I am working on getting it out on other platforms.
