THE DANGEROUS ROAD HOME
Some Details Emerge About Icy Glenn Highway Crash & Rescue Down In The Canyon At Mile 92
Alaska State Trooper Information Officer Tim DeSpain, in response to a query from the Copper River Country Journal asking for additional information about a December 28th crash into the canyon at Mile 92 of the Glenn at 10:46 am, has responded back.
Tim DeSpain wrote, in response to a question of how many people were in the car:
"There were two people in the vehicle headed toward Glennallen when it left the roadway."
In response to a question about how the incident was reported, he wrote:
"A witness in another vehicle called 911."
And in reply to where the responding Troopers came from, he wrote:
"The Trooper responded from Palmer."
Troopers did not have answers for other Journal questions, including whether this was a new section of road, the names of the persons in the car, whether there were guardrails, where the responding EMTs were stationed, and how rescuers brought the victims out of the ravine.
