Northern Lights Come At A Good Time With No Competition From The Moon And Relatively Warm Weather

UAF Forecast: Auroral activity will be high(++). Weather permitting, highly active auroral displays will be visible overhead.
UAF Extended Forecast: Auroral activity will be high on April 1st and 2nd although not as high as it was on the night of March 30-31st.

The new moon is tonight and temperature will only drop into the teens but it may be cloudy.

The Kp number is a system of measuring aurora strength. The range goes from 0 to 9 (0 being calm, 1 very weak, all the way up to 9, which would represent a major geomagnetic storm with strong auroras visible). Anything Kp 5 (like today), and above is classified as a geomagnetic storm.
