Congressman Don Young Dies Suddenly

Alaska's "Congressman For All Alaska" died on Friday, March 18th. He was reported to have lost consciousness on a commercial airplane and couldn't be resuscitated.  

Don Young was 88 years old, and was the longest-serving member of Congress. Alaska has only one Congressman. Young, a Republican, had served 25 terms and was first elected in 1973.
