Dispatch Text:

On 05/03/2024 at approximately 2000 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified by DOT that they received a call for assistance from a bear baiting party of four on the Klutina Lake Road.

The party reported that a landslide had blocked the road at approximately Mile 12 with one ATV disabled beyond the slide path.  Wildlife troopers responded by ATV and escorted the party to safety.

It was noted that the road had snow drifts up to three feet deep in areas and DOT would be unable to access the slide immediately.  Trooper pilots observed the slide by air on 05/04 and provided photos to DOT for assessment.  Travel beyond the slide area is not recommended until repairs are accomplished.
