Neil Hannan of Kenny Lake has embarked on a major effort to help poor rural people in Vietnam (which we have been chronicling in the Copper River Country Journal.) Every May 6th, though, Neil commemorates a terrible day in Vietnam, over 50 years ago. 

This year Neil wrote:

This is always a somber day for me. I don't know how any of us made it out that day. I handled all the dead.   Neil

2nd & 3rd platoons, about 60 men, battle entrenched 300-man North Vietnamese battalion. 12 Americans killed, 1 captured. 52 years ago today, but I recall it like yesterday.
