Glennallen K-12 Principal Expects Moose Creek Floods This Spring Will Impact School

School Is Going Into Emergency Mode, Using Zoom And Work Packets For Students

A Message From Glennallen Principal Benjamin Dolgner
March 26th, 2024

As warmer temperatures arrive, we know the chance of flooding exists and may cause school closures. In preparation for this, teachers will be making alternative plans for your child in the event that we are unable to attend school in person.

The following outline is what you should expect from each grade band.

K-5 Students: Teachers will be sending home a packet with approximately one week worth of work. This will include enrichment activities and review topics, such as math and reading and may include science and/or social studies work as well. Directions for completing each activity will be provided, and teachers will be checking emails and can
set up phone conferences or Zoom meetings if you have the technology to do so.

6-8 Students: Teachers will be sending home the next week's school work weekly, including descriptions of how to complete the work, possible video links that can be viewed for assistance, and any other resources to assist in completing the assignments. Teachers will also be available by email to assist students, meet by telephone, and can set up Zoom/Google meetings if you have the technology to do so.

9-12 Students: Teachers will be holding regular classes by zoom. Students should be taking their computers home daily. Students should plan to attend classes during normal
school hours. Any concerns about work can be directed by email to the teachers.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at bdolgner@crsd.us or call the office at 907 822 5286. We hope that we do not need to go this route, but we would rather be prepared early.
