WAYBACK WITH THE JOURNAL

Looking Back At This Time 4 Years Ago...
March 20th, 2020

NOTE: In March and April, 2020, the brand-new web version of the Copper River Country Journal began contacting businesses around the region, to find out what services were being offered. Covid had just appeared in Alaska, and was spreading, and there was much confusion about how to deal with it. Here's what was happening.
Remember – this was March 2020 – not today!

Let's Go Back In Time, To 4 Years Ago... This Is What The Country Journal Was Publishing In The Spring Of 2020:

Openings & Closing Around The Copper Valley About This Information...

Businesses & Services are invited to update or provide information for this section of the Country Journal 2020 Website. Please briefly send your hours, days open, contact phone number, and things you'd like people to know. Use the email contact box on this site.

(If you're not listed yet, it just means that we need you to write, not that we've forgotten you. There are lots of businesses to coordinate and we'd like your help!)

ALWAYS CHECK TO SEE IF A SERVICE IS STILL BEING GIVEN.

Through their Outreach program they work in schools offering prevention talks to students and parents, as well as provide trainings to community members. COPPER RIVER EMS (CREMS)

According to Matt Lorenz at Copper River EMS: "Anyone who needs an ambulance needs to call 911 and not worry about which service will be responding or where they will be transported."

CREMS provides EMS training from basic CPR and First Aid courses to EMT 1 & 2 level courses and several other options in-between, for example – First Aid and Babysitting Safety.  Matt Lorenz says CREMS provides this for the entire Copper Basin, and has travelled as far as Chistochina and even Valdez in order to teach CPR/First Aid classes.

Anyone who is interested in emergency medical training for themselves, their company, or their staff can call him at 259-5277 or 822-3671 or they can email crems@cvinternet.net.  Currently, all in-person classes are on hold until further notice, but there are options for on-line classes.
