Elementary Principal Frances Jackson Gets A  Positive Test... & Notifies Others

Glennallen Elementary principal Frances Jackson has contracted Covid. Principal Jackson first caught the virus in late August, 2021. Now, six months later, she has it again.

The virus is highly contagious.

For the second time, the young Gulkana principal demonstrated what people should do when they become sick:

Tell those close to you. And urge them to get help if they become ill, too.

On the evening of February 17th – just as last August – the principal began sending out messages by email when she discovered her situation. She notified possible close contacts. She also put up a posting on the Copper River School District site.

Principal Jackson wants to make sure that people who have come into contact with her over the past days get ahold of their medical providers if they were "...within 6 ft of me for more than 15 minutes at any time since Tuesday, February 15th..."

She wrote:

February 17,

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to let you know that today I tested positive. According to my doctor, if you were within 6 ft of me for more than 15 minutes at any time since Tuesday, February 15th, you need to talk with your medical provider.

I have contacted parents and staff that I believe I was in direct contact with.

I will be cleared to re-enter the building on Feb. 23rd, provided that I am fever-free. If you have any questions or concerns about exposure, please talk with your doctor. Take care and stay healthy. I'll see you soon!

Sincerely,

Ms. Jackson
Glennallen Elementary Principal
