Highly Effective Monoclonal Antibody Treatment In Very Short Supply In Alaska

September 29th, 2021
As if Alaska weren't already in trouble, with case rates now 5 times higher that the rest of the U.S., today it was reported that shipments of the expensive but highly effective monoclonal antibody treatments had been delayed. This has led to people seeking treatment for COVID-19 to be turned away from monoclonal antibody treatment clinics.

Alaska DHSS reported 1,009 more new cases, 4 more deaths and 214 hospitalizations on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021.

The vaccine does not prevent 100% of hospitalizations – or even deaths – but when enough citizens get vaccinated it will stop the rampant spread of this deadly virus across Alaska, health officials say.
