Alaska's Covid Infection Rate Accelerates
Johns Hopkins University says Alaska has the highest per-capita case rate of any state and if it were a country it would be higher than any other nation in the world.
Very Dangerous Conditions In Alaska
Alaska has a higher per capita case rate than any country in the world. That means that if Alaska were a country, it would be #1 on the planet in Covid case rates. Alaska is now running five times the national rate in Covid cases per capita and over twice the rate of infection of the next highest state – West Virginia.
National Stories About Alaska's Hospitals Pushed Beyond Capacity
Alaska's overcrowded hospitals and exhausted doctors and nurses – and the unprecedented need to resort to a system of triage for patients, in which doctors are now forced to choose who is most likely to survive – are the subject of distressing stories worldwide. On October 5th, a national morning show featured a tour of Providence Hospital In Anchorage and an interview with Alaska's chief medical officer Anne Zink. The Providence Hospital staff said that 90% of the Covid patients were unvaccinated Alaskans.
