Electricity & Sewage Still Down As Of May 24th

(To The Journal From Gordon "Scott" Claggett, BLM Anchorage District Office)

We definitely took on some water in most of the buildings. The amount of water taken in by each building varied, but we got hit on some level in most buildings.

Electricity and sewage is down. We’re working on establishing some generator support to help get critical function up.

We DO have the phones being forwarded to our staff out there, that’s a recent development as of this morning. So calling the GFO main line (907-822-3217) should be forwarded to a GFO staff member to help support the public.

The water has receded so now it’s a matter of continuing clean up and doing damage control. I don’t want to speculate on a timeline. Water damage is tricky but every effort is being made to reopen the office.
