Some Schools Closed Down Or Evacuated Due To The Threats

Local schools, the Alaska State Troopers, and the FBI are looking into a mass blast of emailed bomb threats that targeted schools across the state. According to Alaska Public Media, 25 school districts were threatened on Tuesday, September 19th.

The Anchorage schools that were threatened stayed open, but Dillingham schools closed. The State Troopers said they didn't believe the threats to seem "credible", but law enforcement officers were following through.

A number of Southeast schools were threatened, too, and Annette Island Schools and Southeast Island Schools evacuated their school buildings, according to Alaska Public Media.

The Copper River School District was closed for "fall break" on September 18th and 19th. The school district was not available for comment when called on Tuesday.
