What If Somebody Just Can't Pay Those Big Electricity Bills?

Electricity rates in the Copper Valley have increased greatly in the past month. 

But what happens if your family just doesn't have enough money to pay that electric bill?

The Country Journal wrote to Travis Million, CEO of Copper Valley Electric:

I am wondering about those who just don’t have the funds. Will you be cutting off their electricity? What if somebody just can’t pay?

With the big increases in the electrical bills, it seems as if there might be a problem that some people will — literally — not be able to pay.

The fuel assistance paperwork seems quite complex; do you have any further information about what people can do who need help? Something very specific?


Copper Valley Electric responded that if you're in this position you should call them. The number is 822-3211.

I’d recommend folks who are or might have a problem paying their bills to call our office. We will work with the members on a case by case basis.

For those who qualify, the State fuel assistance program is a good option as well...
