Wade Gilmore Met His Wife, Rhonna Woodcock In Alaska 

Wade Gilmore 

Wade Gilmore, 71, of Riddle, Oregon, passed away Sept. 6, 2024, after losing his battle with cancer. Wade was born in Coos Bay, Oregon. 

Wade was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. Wade graduated from Kodiak High in 1971. He worked in a circus as a knife thrower and elephant trainer, a laborer and carpenter on construction jobs, and expeditor on the trans-Alaska pipeline, where he met his wife Rhonna Woodcock, he also worked at UAF as lead carpenter for 15 years. During Wade and Rhonna's 46 years together, they homesteaded two properties, building log homes and greenhouses on each. Wade loved hunting and fishing and taught his daughter Brittney the skills to be his partner on many adventures.

Wade is survived by his mother, LaVonne Anderson; wife, Rhonna; daughter, Brittney Gilmore; son, Wade Gilmore Jr.; sisters, Arlene Custer and Anita Montgomery; brothers, Wesley, Warren, Weldon, and Tom Nighbert; grandchildren, Brayan, Brittney, Paola Boyso, and Shawn Krei. He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Wayne.
Wade leaves extended family by marriage, and many close friends. He will be missed by all that knew him for his good nature, humor, and friendship.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for next summer, in Alaska, location to be determined later.
