Dalton Highway Expecting 8 Inches Of Snow By Sunday Morning

Location: Dalton Highway, North Eastern Brooks Range

On 08/05/2022, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for the North Eastern Brooks Range, including the Dalton Highway effective tonight at 2200 hours to Sunday at 0400 hours. Hunters should expect and be prepared for up to 8 inches of snow by Sunday morning, reduced visibility and difficult driving conditions along the Dalton Highway. 

As a reminder to Dall Sheep hunters in the Brooks Range, the Federal Subsistence Board has closed Dall Sheep hunting to all users in GMU24A and GMU26B west of the Sagavanirktok rivers on all federal public lands during the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 regulatory years.
