It Ain't Over 'Til The Fat Lady Sings Covid Still Lingers
There's a saying about things that continue on and on, long after you've grown tired of them: "It's not over until the fat lady sings."
That humorous phrase refers to the end of an opera, when the soprano finally comes onto the stage and belts out a song and you can finally go home.
Here's Wikipedia's take on what "It ain't over" means:
"One should not presume to know the outcome of an event which is still in progress."
In the Copper Valley, apparently the "fat lady" has yet to come onto the stage, no matter how much we all want to pack it up and resume our lives again.
In the second week of March, 2023, despite limited medical care throughout the Copper Valley, a lack of intensity nationwide and around Alaska in keeping records, and general exhaustion about reporting Covid cases, 10 people were officially listed in the Copper Valley as having Covid.
The Copper Valley, right now, has one of the highest number of cases per person in the state.
The figures show that Copper Valley people are almost five times more likely to contract Covid this month than the average Alaskan.
The "fat lady" is still backstage.
