28-Year-Old Gakona Man Sentenced For Failure To Salvage

On 9/21/22, Nick Patterson, age 28 of Gakona, was issued a summons to appear in Glennallen Court for failing to salvage all the edible meat of a bull moose and for removing the antlers from the killsite prior to transporting the edible meat out of the field.  Arraignment is set for 10/4/22.

--update--

On 10/4/22, Nicholas Patterson pled guilty in Glennallen Court to both counts, fail to salvage, and antlers before meat.  He was sentenced to pay a $500 fine for each count, and ordered to forfeit the antlers, as well as the rib meat seized by AWT that was left at the killsite.  Patterson was also ordered to forfeit the rifle used in the incident.
