Copper Valley Is Home Of The Ahtna Athabascan People

October 10th, the Monday closest to "Columbus Day," is also known as "Indigenous Peoples Day."
 
The day celebrates the many tribes, cultural and linguistic groups that populated the Americas before Columbus arrived in 1492. 
 
The Copper Valley of Alaska
has the largest group of roadside Native Alaskan villages in the state.
