Delta Junction Man Found Guilty Of Taking 3 Illegal Chinook Salmon In Chitina In June

On 6/25/22, Aleksandr Tkachenko Jr, age 43 of Delta Junction, was issued a summons to appear in Glennallen District Court from taking Chinook salmon during a closed period in the Chitina Personal Use Fishery.  Tkachenko was contacted by Alaska Wildlife Troopers in the Chitina Subdistrict of the Copper River, the subsequent investigation revealed he was in possession of (3) king salmon, which is a violation of the emergency closure, as well as the bag limit for the fishery.  The (3) unlawfully taken Chinook salmon were seized and Tkachenko was ordered to appear in Glennallen Court for the charges.

UPDATE
On 9/28/22, Alexander Tkachenko was found guilty at a trial held in Glennallen District Court of the unlawful take of Chinook Salmon from the Chitina Subdistrict of the Copper River.  Tkachenko was sentenced by the Court to $750 in fines and ordered to forfeit the three illegally taken Chinook Salmon seized by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers during the investigation.
