On 06/20/2023 at approximately 1559 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a walk-in visitor requesting information on a recent apprehension of a family member.

On 06/20/2023 at approximately 1559 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a walk-in visitor requesting information on a recent apprehension of a family member.
Upon initial contact with Connie F. Sanford, age 61 of Mentasta, a strong odor of alcohol was present. Further investigation revealed Sanford drove impaired across the Alaska Hwy. from one parking lot to the other and had intentions to drive home several miles away. Sanford was placed under arrest without incident and processed for a charge of Driving Under the Influence. Sanford was served with a summons to appear in court and released to a responsible party.
