Update
On 1/16/24, as part of a plea agreement, Vladimir Ranaunaut, age 38 of Anchorage, pled guilty in Glennallen District Court to one charge of Wanton Waste of a big game animal. The conviction comes as a result of an investigation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers into a report of a sub-legal bull moose that was shot and left to waste in GMU 13, north of Eureka, in September of 2021. A months long investigation by AWT led to two suspects being identified and charged in the incident. One of two defendants, Vladimir Ranaunaut, was sentenced yesterday to seven days in jail, and ordered to pay $3500 in fines and restitution.

On 6/27/23, Chaneothone Sritiraj pled guilty in Glennallen Court to one charge of Wanton Waste of a big game animal. The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers into the unlawful take and subsequent wanton waste of a bull moose killed by the defendant in Game Management Unit 13 in 2021. As part of a plea agreement with the District Attorney's Officer, Sritiraj pled guilty to one count of Wanton Waste and was ordered to pay over $3500 in fines and restitution and sentenced to serve seven days in jail.
